Activity 1:

1.1. Look for information about the main industries in your community. Write a short report about what is produced and how technology is used for.

-Iberdrola: it is a well-known industry that provide us with natural gas. It uses technology to get gas from the Earth in a sustainable and ecological way.

-Movistar: it is a communication company. It is the most important mobile company in Spain. It uses technology to build huge electric cables to provide us internet (as other companies do).

1.2. Find out and write down the environmental problems that can come from those processes.

-Iberdrola: natural gas is one of the least dangerous fuels.

-Movistar: an excess in communication can carry a environmental problem with noise.

2.1. Complete the folowing table into your wordprocessor and copy-paste it into your BLOG.

2.3. Choose an invent and make a report. 

Mercury thermometer: in 1654 Fernando II de 
Médici created the first closed thermometer.
Fahrenheit improved it by using mercury instead of water in 1714. Twenty nine years later, in1743, Jean-Pierre Christin used the freezing point of water at 0ºC and the boiling point at 100ºC.

3.1. Find out the opposites of these word:

3.2. Match the tools you need with the actions:

3.3. Write down in your blog why this actions are dangerous in a workshop:

a) running: I think running is dangerous because you might fall.
b) jumping: I think jumping is dangerous because you make noise and you might fall.
c) having loose hair: I thing having loose hair is dangerous because it might tangle with tools.
d) push: I think pushing your classmates is dangerous because they might crash with others and provoke an accident.

3.4.- Copy and complete these sentenses about health and safety.

a) "You musn´t wear rings or having loose hair because: it can tangle with tools(hair)"
b) "You musn´t make too much noise because: you can disturb your classmates"
c) "You must keep your workstation clean and tidy because: your works can get dirty"

3.5.- Match the tools you need with the actions. Use your dictionary. Copy them into your notebook and draw a picture of the tools next to the word.

1-b--> Glue and clamps to glue two pieces of wood.
